Recently, a small number of Glock 19 Mariner pistols have appeared for sale. Rumor has it that the government contract to sell them overseas is about to expire. I think it would be a wise move to distill such a simple modification and engrave it with a Mariner laser. The pistol is cheap and a little different.

Designed for wet use. That's not to say that any firearm can't be shot underwater. The problem is with the compression of the water. Water is incompressible like air. A bullet shot underwater travels the same distance as a bullet shot through gelatin. So a 9mm bullet fired at an underwater shark will stop harmlessly at no more than forty inches with a full metal jacket and probably less. A 9mm hollow point fired into water can be six inches long. Remember that a 9mm bullet travels through the air at 1200 frames per second or more before hitting the target. A bullet fired underwater will never accelerate faster than a barrel filled with water. The only course of action would be to press the barrel into the animal's skin, but then a knife would be the best tool, wouldn't it? But shooting underwater is not a problem.
The real problem that a sailor has to deal with, I think, is a firearm that is submerged in water and then, for example, after swimming or going through a deep current, it goes off. Glock developed cups called marine springs to make the pistol more versatile. This limited item is only sold to institutions such as police departments. Marine spring Glock receivers are in demand on the "black market" known as E Bay.
Striker glasses are supplied in pairs. These cups fit the Glock striker spring and cover the striker. This is an important part, without which the gun will not work. These "sea glasses" differ from standard ones in that they have openings through which water can flow from the striker's channel. After removing the gun from the water, the water will flow out of the striker channel under the influence of gravity. The holes in the glasses of the sea attackers allow water to pass through the glasses.
So what are the advantages of Marine Strikers and by extension the Glock 19 Mariner? When the pistol is carried in bad weather and submerged in water, the sea spring cups of the firing pin allow water to flow out of the channel of the firing pin and the pistol fires reliably.

In theory, if the pistol is loaded with sealed primer cartridges, which are almost all high-quality ammunition, the pistol can be stored under water simply by shaking the pistol and dumping the water. can be activated and fired. I checked the ammo frequently to make sure it was reliable. I reload the round a few times to make sure the twist is good and the bullet doesn't backfire. Backward deviation and violation of the tightness of the sleeve neck will lead to powder contamination. In my experience, gunpowder contamination is much more common than primer failure. I put a sample of the carrier in water, oil and solvent respectively to confirm its reliability and resistance to the elements. Some ammo works well, some doesn't.
Glock warns against such shooting under water and therefore restricts the sea striker's spring cups. The Mariner may be a good choice for anyone who worries about diving or using it outdoors, or who is often exposed to heavy rain.
As for the Glock 19 Mariner, it's just as boring to shoot as any other Glock. No distortions, stable performance and useful accuracy. The trigger is a little heavier than some Glocks, which is just a coincidence. He lightly fed a Remington UMC 115 grain FMJ. I also donated a small amount of Remington 147 grain Golden Saber. Accuracy is typical of utility Glocks. This is a good pistol. It is also one of the most durable pistols in the world. A contract for a Glock 19 Mariner intended for an "undisclosed foreign government" fell through, and these interesting and highly functional collectibles are now flooding the market.
The Mariner label dates back to at least 2005, and is used by Glock in Pacific Rim marketing (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore - all military/police Glock users) and models bearing the "Sea Cup" elsewhere used for spring" as default.
What The Glock?
This is the inner part where the striker in the goal sets the bow. This allows water, oil and debris to exit the striker channel. This allows the pistol to be fired in the field without disassembling the bolt assembly after submersion and in extremely aggressive environments.

Recently released Glock 19 Mariners are rare birds as they are made in the USA and have Georgia markings and stamps on the frame, slide and barrel in addition to the “Mariner” engraving on the slide. These Glocks Gen 3s have a few visual differences from other G19 Gen 3s aside from the "Mariner" laser engraving on the side of the front bolt ejection port and the +2 magazines.
